Receiving an unpoetic put down, a "resprayed" narrative & insults about my professional role from a LinkedIn member, I thought I would write an article on winning.
For some people, this is zero sum: "for me to win, you have to lose." In sports loving cultures the fabric of our thinking is often defined by "score line" outcomes - zero sum wins.
The real value in a win can often be found in the process and is particularly relevant for sustainable business growth or team development.
Here's an example of a "process win" with a positive outcome:
Working with a group of high potential leaders, on enhanced challenges in a robust environment, we created a series of simple executive tasks.
The owners of the company wanted to determine that they were investing in the right people.
Outcome: We discovered that 100% of this leadership group had more ability & knowledge than previously thought. The number 1 choice new CEO was better suited for another role & a new CEO was discovered within the group.
Happy client. Happier people.
As a professional coach, my role is to reframe situations & help unlock latent potential, redefine the win and reveal new success.
